Frequently asked questions

Is Pass the Shift free?

Yes. Study guides, flashcards, and the Ask tool are free and require no login. Some advanced tools may come later in an optional paid portal; the core guides stay free to browse.

Who writes the nursing study guides?

Guides are written and reviewed by Kristina, RN, for Pass the Shift (Discipline Dynamics LLC). Each guide lists a last-reviewed date and cites trusted references such as MedlinePlus, CDC, professional guidelines, and the NCSBN NCLEX test plan—in original words, never copied from textbooks.

Is this medical or nursing-practice advice?

No. Pass the Shift is for educational and study use only—exams, clinicals prep, and NCLEX review. It is not a substitute for your instructors, facility policy, provider orders, or current drug references. In an emergency, call 911.

What topics are covered?

Med-Surg (by body system), Maternity/OB, Pediatrics, and Psych/Mental Health, plus category flashcards and an Ask tool that answers from our guides with links to trusted sources like MedlinePlus and CDC.

Do I need an account?

No. Open any guide or flashcard deck and study. Nothing requires a password or email signup for the free site.
